America’s Growing Inequality Crisis and What We Can Do about It

Apr 23, 2012

eventThe gap between the richest and poorest Americans has been growing since 1979—reversing a half-century of progress toward more broadly shared prosperity. In his new book, The Great Divergence: America’s Growing Inequality Crisis and What We Can Do about It, New Republic columnist Timothy Noah traces the economic and political policies and practices that led to the country’s growing wealth gap.

Join The Century Foundation for the inaugural forum in our Speaking of Change series and the first discussion of Tim Noah’s new book. An expert panel will join Noah for a discussion of the policy prescriptions he presents in the book. The Great Divergence will be released officially on May 1, but advance copies of the book will be available for purchase at this event.

Speakers: Roosevelt Institute Fellow Dorian Warren, Timothy Noah, Daniel Alpert, Robert Hockett, and Greg Anrig

When: Tuesday, April 24, 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Where: The Century Foundation, 41 East 70th Street, New York, NY
